Psychedelic Somatic Therapy

A somatic, relational approach to working with psychedelic experiences

What Is Psychedelic Somatic Therapy

Psychedelic Somatic Therapy is a body-centered approach to working with psychedelic experiences, grounded in somatic awareness, presence, and relational support.

This approach draws from somatic psychotherapy and embodied awareness practices, combined with the careful and intentional use of psychedelics. Rather than focusing on interpretation or peak experiences, the emphasis is on staying connected to what is unfolding in the body — sensations, impulses, emotions, and shifts in awareness — as the experience unfolds.

Psychedelics are not approached as a solution or a shortcut. They are understood as an amplifier of inner experience, bringing existing patterns, emotions, and beliefs more clearly into awareness. The therapeutic process itself is shaped by preparation, attuned guidance, and integration, allowing what emerges to be met slowly and with care, at a pace that respects your system.

Some people come to Psychedelic Somatic Therapy as a focused way to explore themselves in an expanded state of awareness. Others arrive here as a continuation of ongoing somatic therapy or Hakomi Therapy. In both cases, the foundation remains the same: presence, choice, and a collaborative process that supports understanding through direct, embodied experience.

Working in Relationship

The relationship between you and the facilitator is the foundation of this work. It is through this attuned connection that experiences can be met safely, gently, and meaningfully.

As a facilitator, I am present with you in each moment, noticing what arises and offering guidance when it feels aligned — but I also trust the process and allow space for your experience to unfold naturally. Sometimes this means an intervention or reflection; other times it means stepping back, holding the space quietly, and letting the experience speak for itself.

This relational container supports both safety and curiosity. The focus is on staying attuned to the present moment, supporting you in noticing, feeling, and understanding what shows up, while honoring the pace and rhythm of your own system.

In this way, the psychedelic experience becomes part of a larger relational dialogue — one that is grounded, responsive, and rooted in presence, allowing your unfolding process to be witnessed, supported, and met with care.

A Present-Moment, Body-Informed Approach

This approach works with what is present — sensations, emotions, thoughts, and impulses — with curiosity as the guiding thread. Rather than pushing for insight, change, or breakthrough, the focus is on noticing what arises and gently exploring it as it unfolds.

The body and felt sense offer a central entry point, providing a direct way to track experience and connect with what is emerging. They act as a guide to shifts in awareness, helping you stay grounded and connected throughout the process.

Curiosity is at the heart of the work. Both you and the facilitator bring it into the space: you by opening to what is present, and the facilitator by offering subtle, invitational guidance that supports exploration without pressure. This creates a fluid, relational container where experiences can be felt and observed as they unfold, and where meaning may emerge in the moment or take shape gradually through integration.

Over time, working in this way can support a deeper sense of groundedness and a more nuanced relationship with your inner landscape — helping you meet both psychedelic experiences and everyday life with greater clarity, presence, and choice.

Is This Approach Right for You?

Psychedelic Somatic Therapy may be a good fit if you feel drawn to exploring your inner world slowly and with care, and if you’re open to working with what shows up in the present moment — rather than aiming for specific outcomes or peak experiences.

This approach tends to resonate with people who value groundedness, curiosity, and relational support, and who are willing to listen to the pace and signals of their own system.

It may not be the right fit if you’re looking for quick fixes or a purely cathartic or visionary experience. And that’s okay — part of this work is honoring what feels aligned, and what doesn’t.
