How I Support You in Sessions

I bring a grounded, calm presence to every session, helping you slow down and explore at your own pace. My focus is on creating a safe and supportive space, so you feel seen, guided, and free to engage with your inner world with curiosity.

What a Hakomi Session Is Like

A Hakomi session is a gentle, collaborative exploration of your inner experience. Rather than trying to fix or change anything, we slow things down and create space to notice what is already present — in your thoughts, emotions, and body.

Sessions unfold at a pace that feels right for you. I offer guidance and reflections while staying closely attuned to your experience, supporting you to explore with curiosity rather than effort. This work is not about forcing insight, but about allowing understanding to emerge naturally, from within.

I bring a grounded, calm presence to each session, with a strong emphasis on safety and consent. You are always in choice, and we move only as fast as your system feels ready to go.

The Power of Working in a Mindful State

In Hakomi, we invite mindfulness as a way to gently notice what is happening in your experience. It means turning your attention inward, with curiosity and care, to the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that arise.

If mindfulness is new to you, that’s perfectly fine. And if a mindful state doesn’t always feel available — even with guidance — that is more than okay. We work with whatever is present, exactly as it is.

Working in a mindful state allows experiences to be met directly in the body, rather than only understood through thinking. This supports a bottom-up process, where insight and change arise from felt experience instead of trying to think your way out of old patterns.

Over time, this creates space for new responses, deeper self-understanding, and a greater sense of choice in how you meet yourself and the world.

"Hakomi with Odin was a deeply intimate and safe space. I felt seen in a way I rarely have—he noticed even the smallest shifts in my body, guiding me into deeper exploration."

What Hakomi Can Support You With

Hakomi therapy supports you in exploring the underlying patterns that shape how you relate to yourself, others, and the world. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, we gently explore the deeper beliefs and experiences that influence your reactions, emotions, and choices.

People often come to Hakomi with themes such as:

  • Feeling stuck in recurring emotional or relational patterns

  • Difficulty slowing down, relaxing, or feeling present

  • Anxiety, stress, or a sense of constant pressure

  • Challenges with boundaries, self-worth, or self-trust

  • A sense of disconnection from the body or emotions

  • Wanting to understand themselves on a deeper, embodied level

  • Integration after meaningful or challenging life experiences

Supporting Those Who’ve Experienced Trauma

Hakomi also offers a gentle space for people who carry the impact of difficult early experiences. This can include adverse childhood experiences, complex developmental trauma, or histories of sexual or emotional abuse. In sessions, we move at a pace that feels safe for you, allowing your body and mind to guide the exploration. You are fully supported in meeting what is present, without pressure or expectation, and discovering new ways of relating to yourself and your world.

Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or simply feel curious about exploring yourself more deeply, Hakomi offers a grounded and compassionate way to connect with your inner experience. Sessions provide space to notice, reflect, and gently uncover patterns, supporting greater understanding, choice, and ease in your life — all at a pace that respects your readiness and comfort.
