Hakomi Somatic Therapy

Gentle, Body-Based Therapy in Amsterdam & Online

Somatic Therapy for Anxiety, Emotional Patterns & Trauma

If you’re feeling stuck in recurring emotional or relational patterns, overwhelmed by anxiety, or disconnected from yourself, you’re not alone.

I offer Hakomi-based somatic therapy in Amsterdam and online — a gentle, body-based approach that helps you shift patterns that feel stuck, overwhelming, or hard to change through talking alone. Rather than only talking about your challenges, we slow down and explore how they show up in your body, emotions, and nervous system — where lasting shifts can begin.

I offer Hakomi somatic therapy sessions in Amsterdam and online worldwide.

I work in both English and Dutch, and many of my clients are expats and internationals navigating life transitions abroad.

“For the first time I was able to sit with my emotions, with the uncomfortable, the ugly, the frightening stuff, that I was always running away from.”

What Hakomi Can Support You With

Hakomi somatic therapy supports you in exploring the underlying patterns that shape how you relate to yourself, others, and the world. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, we gently explore the deeper beliefs and experiences that influence your reactions, emotions, and choices.

People often come to Hakomi with themes such as:

  • Feeling stuck in recurring emotional or relational patterns

  • Difficulty slowing down, relaxing, or feeling present

  • Anxiety, stress, or a sense of constant pressure

  • Challenges with boundaries, self-worth, or self-trust

  • A sense of disconnection from the body or emotions

  • Wanting to understand themselves on a deeper, embodied level

  • Integration after meaningful or challenging life experiences

Supporting Those Who’ve Experienced Trauma

Hakomi somatic therapy also offers a gentle space for people who carry the impact of difficult early experiences. This can include adverse childhood experiences, complex developmental trauma, or histories of sexual or emotional abuse. In sessions, we move at a pace that feels safe for you, allowing your body and mind to guide the exploration. You are fully supported in meeting what is present, without pressure or expectation, and discovering new ways of relating to yourself and your world.

Whether you are navigating a specific challenge or simply feel curious about exploring yourself more deeply, Hakomi offers a grounded and compassionate way to connect with your inner experience. Sessions provide space to notice, reflect, and gently uncover patterns, supporting greater understanding, choice, and ease in your life — all at a pace that respects your readiness and comfort.

"Hakomi with Odin was a deeply intimate and safe space. I felt seen in a way I rarely have—he noticed even the smallest shifts in my body, guiding me into deeper exploration."

What a Hakomi Session Is Like

A Hakomi somatic therapy session is a gentle, collaborative exploration of your inner experience. Rather than trying to fix or change anything, we slow things down and create space to notice what is already present — in your thoughts, emotions, and body.

Sessions unfold at a pace that feels right for you. I offer guidance and reflections while staying closely attuned to your experience, supporting you to explore with curiosity rather than effort. This work is not about forcing insight, but about allowing understanding to emerge naturally, from within.

I bring a grounded, calm presence to each session, with a strong emphasis on safety and consent. You are always in choice, and we move only as fast as your system feels ready to go.

The Power of Working in a Mindful State

In Hakomi, we gently invite moments of mindfulness — simply noticing what is happening in your experience with curiosity and care.

You don’t need prior experience with meditation or mindfulness. And if slowing down feels unfamiliar or even difficult at times, that’s completely okay. We work with whatever is present, at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Working in this way allows experiences to be felt directly in the body, rather than only understood through thinking. This often creates shifts that feel natural and lasting — not forced or analytical.

Over time, this supports a deeper sense of self-understanding, regulation, and choice in how you meet yourself and the world.

“It felt like I was meeting myself as a child, but with the kindness I needed back then.”
