Psychedelic Assisted Somatic Therapy

Working with psychedelic experiences through a relational and somatic lens

What Is Psychedelic Assisted Somatic Therapy

Psychedelic Assisted Somatic Therapy is a body-centered approach to working with psychedelic experiences, grounded in somatic awareness, presence, and relational support.

This approach draws from somatic psychotherapy and embodied awareness practices, combined with the intentional use of psychedelics. Rather than focusing on interpretation or peak experiences, the emphasis is on staying connected to what is unfolding in the body — sensations, impulses, emotions, and shifts in awareness — as experience unfolds.

Psychedelics are not approached as a solution or shortcut, but as an amplifier of inner experience, bringing existing patterns and emotions more clearly into awareness. The therapeutic process is shaped by preparation, attuned guidance, and integration, allowing what emerges to be met with care and at a pace that respects your system.

Some people come to this work to explore themselves in expanded states of awareness. Others arrive as a continuation of somatic or Hakomi-informed therapy. In both cases, the foundation remains the same: presence, choice, and a collaborative process that supports understanding through direct, embodied experience.

Working in Relationship

The relationship between you and the facilitator is the foundation of this work. It is through this attuned connection that experiences can be met safely, slowly, and with care.

As a facilitator, I stay present with your process in each moment, tracking what is happening and offering guidance when it feels supportive. At times this may be a reflection or gentle invitation; at other times it may be simply holding space and allowing your experience to unfold without interruption.

This work is not directed toward a specific outcome. Instead, it is a collaborative process where we follow what is present, moment by moment, with attention to pacing, safety, and choice.

Over time, this kind of relational support can create a sense of steadiness and trust, allowing deeper layers of experience to be met with more clarity and less effort.

A Present-Moment, Body-Informed Approach

This work follows what is happening in the present moment — in sensations, emotions, thoughts, and impulses — as they arise in real time.

Rather than working from analysis or interpretation, we stay close to direct experience in the body. This creates a way of exploring that is slower, more subtle, and often more revealing than thinking alone.

The body becomes a guide in this process. It helps bring attention to patterns as they are being lived, not just understood, allowing space for something new to emerge without force or direction.

Curiosity is central. Together, we learn to stay with what is present — even when it is unfamiliar, unclear, or intense — and allow experience to unfold at its own pace.

Over time, this way of working can support a more grounded relationship to yourself, and a clearer sense of how you meet your inner world.

Is This Approach Right for You?

Psychedelic Assisted Somatic Therapy may be a good fit if you feel drawn to exploring your inner world slowly and with care, and if you’re open to working with what shows up in the present moment — rather than aiming for specific outcomes or peak experiences.

This approach tends to resonate with people who value groundedness, curiosity, and relational support, and who are willing to listen to the pace and signals of their own system.

It may not be the right fit if you’re looking for quick fixes or a purely cathartic or visionary experience. And that’s okay — part of this work is honoring what feels aligned, and what doesn’t.
